Artist JP Jermaine Powell completed a large 9ft x 80ft mural paying homage to some of the world’s most talented and celebrated authors. Authors Include: Zora Neale Hurston, Chinua Achebe, James Baldwin, Lorraine Hansberry, Toni Morrison, and Maya Angelou. The mural was completed at the newly renovated Chapel Hill High School Arts Wing.

There is a new massive, colorful mural in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The mural was conceptualized and completed thanks to the community of North Side Fayetteville, The Fayetteville Arts Council and public artist, JP Jermaine Powell. The colorful mural is composed of six individual colorful murals and is located on the facades of the I-295 corridor walls. The subject matter of the “We Are Fayetteville” mural is composed of the “Legacy” side and the “Future” side which celebrates the the rich history and diverse community of the great city of Fayetteville, North Carolina.

In the historic College Park Neighborhood near Downtown Raleigh North Carolina, a new public art project consisting of a public sculpture and community photographs was installed in the newly redesigned Fisher Street Park. The imagery and photographs that are featured in the artworks span over a 100 years. Artist JP Jermaine Powell partnered with community leaders, highly respected historians, and the City Of Raleigh to create a public art project that focused on the people, the history and the community of this important North Carolina location.
